Job Description

Our client who are a well-established precision engineering manufacturer that specialises in producing high-quality, bespoke metal components for a wide range of industries Are seeking a skilled CNC Turner to join their team. you will be responsible for operating and maintaining CNC machines to fabricate parts according to specifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and run CNC machinery to carry out a range of machining operations, including turning, milling, drilling, and tapping
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and job instructions to accurately meet specified dimensions and tolerances
  • Choose the correct tooling, equipment, and materials required for each job
  • Oversee machine performance, making adjustments where necessary to maintain efficiency and quality
  • Inspect completed components using precision measuring equipment such as callipers and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met
  • Work closely with colleagues to support continuous improvement, streamline processes, and enhance overall productivity

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of machining methods, techniques, and production processes
  • Proven ability to manufacture components using a variety of tools, machinery, and equipment
  • Experience selecting, setting up, and maintaining tooling to support efficient machining
  • Working knowledge of CAD software for CNC programming and setup
  • Familiarity with Mazatrol programming is advantageous, though not essential
  • High level of accuracy when measuring components using callipers, micrometres, and other precision hand tools
  • Awareness of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices
