Purchasing Assistant

Are you organised, detail-focused, and ready to play a key role in procurement and supplier management? Our client, a dynamic and forward-thinking business, is looking for a Purchasing / Procurement Assistant to support the Purchasing Manager and help streamline processes, track metrics, and secure the best deals from suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Purchasing Manager with demand and shortfall planning
- Process purchase orders and maintain ERP system accuracy
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to secure favourable procurement deals
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate supply needs with relevant managers
- Support On-Time Delivery In Full (OTDIF) objectives
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports/statistics
- Ensure compliance with quality systems, departmental KPIs, and company procedures
- Collaborate with team members, managers, and directors across the business
- Participate in stock cycle counts and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support other duties as required
Skills & Experience
- Proven ERP and Microsoft Office experience
- Previous procurement, purchasing, or supply chain support experience
- Highly organised with strong problem-solving skills
- Flexible, hardworking, and positive attitude
- Excellent communication, maths, and written skills
- Customer service-focused and a true team player
Salary and Benefits
- £27-30K
- 40 hours/week – Monday to Thursday 06:30–15:15, Friday 06:00–13:00 (flex available start/finish times)
- Holiday: 33 days/year including bank holidays
